Manipulating twisted electrons in strong-field ionization

We investigate the discrete orbital angular momentum (OAM) of photoelectrons freed in strongfield ionization. use these `twisted' electrons to provide an alternative interpretation on existing experimental work vortex interferences caused by strong field ionization mediated two counterrotating circularly polarized pulses separated a delay. Using approximation, we derive interference condition for vortices. In computations neon target find very good agreement with photoelectron distributions computed as well time-dependent methods Qprop and R-Matrix. For each approaches examine OAM photoelectrons, finding small number states localized separate energy regions. demonstrate that vortices arise from pairs twisted electron states. The state can be directly related arms spiral region. gain further understanding recreating this determine semiclassical relation OAM. A discussion is included measuring or employing specific laser pulse schemes utilizing time-resolved imaging photo-induced dynamics.
